We remind everyone of how the ocean is there for them.
Our intent is to remind people of the physical, emotional and spiritual healing power of the ocean and each other :)
K - 12
We are so priviledged to provide unique educational opportunities for our K - 12 students.
Immersive educational experiences are what ground knowledge into our learners at any age.
We are grateful for the Hawai’i Department of Education’s flagship event - Ho’ākea - that brings together our public and charter school children to our waʻa (canoe) and ʻaina (land) partners.
Our students have this opportunity to be globally-minded yet locally rooted. We hope to keep our talented youth in our islands to eleveate our communities and ʻaina to the next level.
Higher Education
In partnership with the University of Washington, our founder, Dr. Brittany Kamai, has created a unique class that weaves together ancestral knowledge of voyaging with contemporary understandings of astrophysics.
Pacific Indigenous Astrophysics is offered at UW - Seattle campus once a year and a Study Abroad version where students will come to Hawaiʻi and learn with our waʻa and ʻaina organizations.
Higher education offers opportunities for students to dive deeper into topics and chances to activate agents of change who will take on the kuleana (responsibility) to be stewards of knowledge.
